Down-dog 4 Dignity — A Yoga Benefit for Designs 4 Dignity

Down-dog 4 Dignity is a one-of-a-kind charity yoga class to benefit Designs 4 Dignity. We'll gather to practice at the spacious, spectacular Logan Square home of Diane Falanga, Board President of Designs 4 Dignity. Om's very own Beth & Annie will teach & assist. After getting our zen on with a one-hour all levels class, we’ll enjoy mimosas, coffee and a healthy bit of nosh.

This is accessible from the 606 Trail at the Artesian ramp and the Blue Line is nearby. Free, unzoned parking available on Bloomingdale.

Kundalini Yoga and The Gong with Shiva Singh Khalsa

Om yogis really enjoyed this special class with our neighbor, friend & fellow yoga teacher Shiva Singh, so we are hosting it again. Shiva Singh is the Midwest’s leading Kundalini Yoga teacher and co-director of Spirit Rising Yoga along with his wife Shabad Kaur Khalsa.

Shiva Singh will offer a one hour Kundalini Yoga & The Gong class and will share the teachings that he learned through his over 30 years of study with the late Yogi Bhajan, spiritual leader of Kundalini Yoga. You’ll enjoy a little chanting along with energizing breath work in some seated asanas. The class concludes with relaxation in the cosmic vibration of the gong. This introductory Kundalini practice will unlock energy and provide a path to meditation and deep rest.

Yoga Fore Golfers with Terry

Are you itching to get out on the golf course but feeling a little creaky? Do you need a "secret weapon" that will leave your foursome wondering how you do it? This is the workshop for you! In the easy warmth of the studio, Terry will lead this session focused on the qualities needed to get your swing and your game into the groove for the launch of the golf season.

Balance, mobility, freedom and focus are the keys to high performance and low scores on the links. You'll gain awareness of your unique body mechanics and walk away with a few poses you can do at home and on the range to get connected and enjoy every moment of your walk on the green road.

The class will be geared toward golfers, but all are welcome! (Headstand pictured here for humorous purposes only...we won't be doing those!)

Our annual Partner’s Yoga Workshop Benefit is on! Please come with someone you care about to share in a one-of-a-kind Valentine's Date. We love sharing this class with Om couples. And it is all for a good cause.

Our session includes practicing yoga together & assisting your partner in collaborative ways. It ends with relaxing Thai Yoga Massage. Bring a pillow for that part.  We’ll guide you through it all. Newcomers most welcome; no experience needed.

FYI, room is warm, not hot.

Yoga & Chinese Medicine with Molly Coffman

Please help us welcome Molly Cofman — a former Chicagoan now living in Tuscany — for a unique workshop introducing general concepts of Traditional Chinese medicine. Through a skillfully crafted yoga practice following the five elements of Chinese Medicine, you will experience greater internal harmony, balance and energy. In small part presentation/lecture, and in big part experiential, this workshop is a journey of self-exploration, discovery and revealing our fullest potential.

Molly is a licensed, board-certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist as well as a seasoned yoga teacher. She was a part of the Integrative Medicine Team at Northshore University Health Systems in Chicagoland for many years. Her studies on complementary medicine and yoga are vast. Molly now leads retreats and trainings all over the world.

Mindful Moms & Kids is a unique new class offering for parents with young children.  The one-hour class offers Moms (or Dads) an energetic 45-minute class with Nina in our main Practice Room.  At the same time, your child will take part in a 45-minute kids class with Lindsay in the Reception Area.  Lindsay's class is best for 4-7 year olds and includes yoga, music, & mindful activities.  Parents and children will come together for a final 15 minutes of shared yoga-centric games and discussion.

Nina and Lindsay come to us via Mats & Munchkins in Oak Park where they provide family-oriented yoga programs throughout the area.  Mindful Moms & Kids classes have been especially popular with their local community and we hope they can be embraced here at Om.
