It all began in the Lakeview neighborhood about a decade ago when Om on the Range Yoga Studio opened on Valentine’s Day. Beth Range Kiely and Terry Kiely left their professional lives in the corporate and non-profit sectors and opened up a yoga studio near their Roscoe Village home. Their dream of retiring and becoming yoga teachers became a reality a few decades early!
Beth’s sister, Annie Range Barclay, was at that very first class and never stopped coming. She helped the studio grow and blossom and became a yoga teacher along the way. With Annie ready to expand Om on the Range, the new Bucktown studio was born! So, here we are today in two great Chicago neighborhoods.
The studio is named in memory of Annie and Beth’s father – Charlie Range. He would love the name and really like that it is a welcoming place for all who wish to explore yoga in Chicago.
You might see the next generation of children around the studio, too. Beth and Terry’s two young sons hand out blocks and straps (or sometimes just build castles with them). Annie and her husband Buck have 3 teenagers who are occasionally found in class. |
