 Overview

Learn to design and teach a challenging power vinyasa yoga class in the tradition of Baron Baptiste, as well Gentle Flow, Yin and Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
Learn basic anatomy and physiology as it applies to specific yoga poses and common injuries
Learn the breakdown, alignment, modifications, and sequencing of postures
Learn how to assist, evaluate bodies physically, emotionally and prevent injuries
Learn ujjayi and other pranayama breathing techniques to incorporate into your class
Participate in practice-teaching sessions, intimate study groups, observing and assisting classes
Yoga philosophy that will guide you in your daily life
Learn yoga's roots or beginnings and compare/contrast Eastern and Western practices
Learn the lifestyles and ethics for yoga teachers
Learn effective presentation and communication skills to teach to different levels of health and ability

Who should attend SYU?

Anyone is eligible for these programs. Those who get the most out of their training are open to taking their personal power yoga practice to the next level, diving deeper into self-inquiry, physical asana, meditation, and learning more about yoga. New possibilities and growth opportunities are limitless depending on what you are open to receiving.
REQUIREMENTS FOR 200hr TRAININGS

Training Requirements

100% attendance to all sessions

Personal study outside training sessions

Commitment to growth for yourself and others

Full tuition payment due prior to the first day of training (or Payment Plan approved by facilitators)

$25 non-refundable Application Fee due upon completion of your initial application

$300 non- refundable Deposit due upon acceptance into the training (this reserves your spot!)

We offer a 10% military and school teacher discount

Tuition

$2,800*
$300 non-refundable application deposit due at the time your application is submitted. This deposit will be applied towards your tuition once the program begins.
$200 discount if tuition is paid in full by February 15, 2018
Payment plan available and will incur a $30 charge for each payment made.


The training consists of 160 classroom hours and 40 non-classroom hours and will take place during eight weekends, starting in September and ending in January. Here is just some of what we will cover in our training sessions:

Shiva Shakti Power Yoga is an accredited Yoga Alliance Teacher Training School. Students who successfully complete our training can register with Yoga Alliance as a 200-hour certified teacher. For more information about Yoga Alliance and its standards, follow this link: www.yogaalliance.org

Saturday: 9am-7pm
Sunday: 9am-5pm

Cost (prices are approximate and will be finalized when dates are announced):

$3,000 early bird pricing
$3,250 if paid in full by the beginning of the training
$3,500 if paying in two installments

Additional reading materials are required for full participation in the course. The approximate investment for reading materials is $100, less if you already own or borrow your books. You will be provided a reading list prior to the training start date.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:

A full refund will be issued if cancellation occurs more than 7 days before program start date.
No refunds within 7 days of program start date.
If Shiva Shakti cancels the training, a full refund will be issued.

Participants in this teacher training must:

be at least 18 years old
have a high school diploma or equivalent
be free of major injuries going into the program
be coachable
have a radical commitment to personal growth
